Tinggan Highland Forest Hike
A Highland Forest Hike for AllAt a Glance
Highlights
A delicious deep forest family walk exploring the lower, easy-grade slopes of the traditional ascent route to Pura Puncak Mangu temple. Away from crowds, this family version of GBT 8b is ideal for both kids and adults to discover the wonders of a highland forest ecosystem.
For families with young children, beginner hikers or anyone keen on of fresh highland air, deep forest, wide horizons and easy trails, first ascending in the shaded forest, then gently descending open ridge-top back-road down to Tinggan.
This trail adventure requires 24hrs / 1day advance booking.
—
We’ve designed this route as an idGuides Outdoor Classroom for practical learning of two contrasting ecosystems due to land-use change; of (1) conservation forest (hutan lindung): the out-and-back earthy-and-easy first 1km* of the Mangu temple summit trail (GBT 8b), followed by (2) open farmland and agroforestry, orange, guava, coffee farms and livelihoods.
