Depending on your fitness and hiking objectives for this private half day trek, you can hike the 5km short circuit, or opt for the long 10km circuit. Find Bali on foot in Bangli.

For those of you who seek a very special canyon waterfall away from crowds and are game for a short or longer hike exploring local livelihoods and a sacred forest.

The long circuit is 10km; the short circuit is 5km.

Ideal for:

  • Beginners & families with fit children ages 8+, 5km short circuit option is best.
  • Trail-fit beginners & experienced hikers, the 10km long circuit option is ideal

Visiting Tangkup Waterfall requires a relatively steep but straight-forward descent into the canyon via a concrete staircase, and a short ankle-deep walk in the cool river. A lovely reward awaits.

Re: Descent into the Canyon and Access to Tangkup Waterfall

  • Access to Tangkup Waterfall requires a steep descent on concrete steps, in good condition.
  • Once down in the canyon, it is a short 25m walk in ankle-deep water downstream to waterfall.
  • River levels are ankle-depth, and sandy underfoot.
  • We advise to keep footwear on.
  • IF conditions NOT CONDUCIVE; THENTeam idGuides guides will inform you and suggest alternative.
  • IF CONDUCIVE; THEN stones underwater/above water will be slippery. We advise careful foot placement and to follow any guidance.
  • Trekking poles are available.
